How to Fix Facebook Organic Reach

If you have a business page on Facebook it's likely you've seen a great decline in your Organic Reach over the last year. But is Facebook Organic Reach dead all together? No, but without the right tools and strategy you will feel like it is.

Of course you always want to be sure to use relevant keywords, images and meta tags, these alone are no longer enough to ensure that your target audience is reached. You will need to do more to get your message out there.

Here are nine ways to help you boost your organic reach on Facebook.

1. Visuals are a marketer's best friend

It used to be vital to post something every day, but that has changed. Now it is most important to have some kind of visual that accompanies your post. The advantage of being forced to include a visual is that people can learn your message more easily and retain it longer if it is supported by visuals such as statistics, videos, or slideshows.

The supporting visual content can lead to an 80 percent higher clickthrough rate if it makes your point more clearly. This is true even when you use less content; even if your content is only 250 words, a picture is still worth 1,000 words.

2. Less is more

When you start to see that your traffic is declining, creating more posts may not be the solution. Although you do want to aim to produce 2 to 4 posts per day, you may be able to overcome this problem simply by posting at certain times of the day.

If you intend to reach the most people in the United States, know that 80 percent of people in this country live in the Eastern and Central time zones. Research reveals that best results can be obtained on Facebook between 3 and 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, between 1 and 4 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and between 12 and 1 p.m. on weekends.

3. Craft better content

When you create your content for Facebook, you want to have much more than advertising. The purpose of Facebook is social media, and people expect to find something that is going to provide some value through expertise, education or entertainment.

Considering using stories, which people love, in order to build a relationship. Seek to build lasting relationships and trust by providing well-written content with stories, and you will find that your customers will keep coming back for more.

4. Get your team involved to add personality

You can expand your company's outreach and impact by getting your team involved. Many of them are probably already using Facebook, and they may be glad to post something to their own page about your company.

Be sure to discuss what type of material you would like posted and what you do not want to see. Create a list of frequently asked questions about your products, and then let your team use that as a basis to write and contribute to your success.

5. Stop being cheesy and salesy

Getting visitors and keeping them coming back is easier if you follow something called the "10-4-1" rule. This guideline is effective because it is based on the idea that social media users prefer socialization, not just constant ads and marketing.

The "10-4-1" formula is based on a cycle of 15 posts. It recommends that out of 15 posts, 10 should be from a third party, 4 should be blog posts, and 1 should be a landing page for selling your product. Using third-party material will actually increase your traffic because your site will be viewed as honest and authoritative.

6. Get your audience involved

Although social media continues to evolve, one trend that stands out is that Millennials definitely place a high value on content from other sources. Many of them will trust a product if the information they read comes from a social network and will trust it even more if the source is from peer reviews (68%) or conversations with their friends (74%). This means that user-generated content has been shown to be 20% more influential than any other type of media.

7. Create more relevant/real-time content

You can grow your Facebook following by making sure your content is relative to your audience. They came to your website because they had certain interests in your topics; continue to give it to them. By watching the comments, as well as the news, you can provide them with real-time content that is based on their current interests.

8. Use video

Live video has been shown to be a very powerful way to get attention. If you are ready and able to do this, you certainly should. If you are not able to dive in yet, you may still try creating videos - they will almost certainly boost your traffic. 9. Pay for your best content

Although you can provide quality content, it is a good idea to pay for your best content. The experts that provide your content will be sure to mention their posts on your site on their own social media, which can give you powerful boosts in traffic.

Facebook is certainly far from dead. While the best tactics to advertise using Facebook are changing, you can still benefit from its traffic and continue to get significant sales.
