How To Drive More Leads In Your Business By Being Your Unapologetic Self NOW Marketing Group blog

If you want to drive more leads in your business, you have to be willing to step into your power.

Regardless of the industry you work in, and whether you’re building a business or personal brand, it’s critical to infuse your personality into everything that you do. That’s how you become memorable, set yourself apart, and find the best customers.

While it can be easier to look for someone else to tell you the key to growing your business, the reality is that only you know the key, because the key is you.

To dive into the topic, we invited our friend and Social Media Week Lima speaker, Bri Seeley on to Magnet Marketers to share how crafting your unapologetic message is the best way to drive leads in your business.

The Entrepreneur Coach and founder of “Born for This”, Bri Seeley, distills her 15-years of real-world experience into digestible, tangible tools to help entrepreneurs thrive and profit.

The Key To Crafting Your Unapologetic Message:

You are truly the only one who has the power to craft your message to the world.

You know better than anyone what your why is; the reason you’re in business, and speaking to that clearly and honestly is one of the best and most impactful ways to craft your message.

“The secret sauce for your messaging is you.” @briseeley (click to tweet)

The more authentic, and YOU, that you can be, the easier it is for you to connect with the people that are looking for that.

The right people, the right teammates, and customers will resonate with who you are, what you stand for, what you have to say, how you say it and why you’re doing what you do… and they are going to want to work with you because of that.

“I let my authentic voice be what people hear and because of that, people trust me and want to work with me.” @briseeley (click to tweet)

Knowing who you are and then being yourself fully online is the easiest way to allow people to know, like, and trust you.

People do business with those they know, like, and trust.

“Behind every brand are people, and your audience will get a sense of your brand based on the people who work there and the content you put out.” @jessikaphillips (click to tweet)

The more you let your brand personality shine online, the more you’re able to use your online presence as a method for recruiting and retaining talent.

The worst thing a brand can do? >> Put out a fake persona online.

You don’t want people to think that you’re one thing and then have a totally different experience in real life. This breeds distrust and creates a dissatisfied customer.

“You always want to make sure that your jelly bean bag is labeled to exactly what flavor you are.” @briseeley (click to tweet)

The big takeaway? >> We can teach you how to make a jelly bean (for example, a brand manifesto or a blog post) but only YOU have the ability to create your own flavor.

Doing The Hard Work First:

So often, entrepreneurs get starry-eyed when they hear about the latest 5-step process, or some magic pill, to growing a business. However, the reality is that trying other people’s systems isn’t going to get you where you want to go.

brie anderson hands moving to show a processIt comes down to doing the hard work first, which is all about working on yourself and finding your way through the rejections and judgments that you place on yourself, as well as ones you anticipate from others.

Working through this isn’t easy, but it’s how you’ll be able to come to a place of peace where you’re able to love and accept yourself completely.

Sure, it might sound woo-woo, but this is truly essential if you want to get your business to the next level.

“It takes a lot of personal development work and therapy and coaching to really own your strength.” @briseeley (click to tweet)

This self-growth work is how you can confidently bring your unique self to the table.

“Creating that identity has to start from the inside first before it can become a catchphrase or motto for your team.” @jessikaphillips (click to tweet)

By doing this work as a leader, you will start to make transformational changes and mindset shifts that allow you to empower your team and start to further attract the right teammates and clients.

How To Get Started:

There are so many different ways to get started with this work, which is what makes it so fun.

We truly like to think of this type of personal growth work as a choose your own adventure situation, which is why we have a number of recommendations for action steps outlined below.

Read Personal Development Books:

We absolutely love personal development books because they help to shift our perspective and get us thinking about ourselves in a new light.

Our team has thoroughly enjoyed these five books and recommends them if you want to feel inspired and motivated to take action to better yourself.

Surround Yourself With Great People:

Everyone has heard of the saying “you’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”

But, when is the last time you held a lens up to see how this applies to you?

If you want to be able to step into your power, you need to surround yourself with great people that remind you just how powerful you are.

“It helps to have someone beside you to help encourage you and coach you to help you get to the next level.” @mike_gingerich (click to tweet)

You truly can’t do this kind of self-development work alone.

You need hype people in your corner, ready to cheer you on when you’re having a tough day.

You need honest friends, ready to read your messaging and tell you whether it feels like you.

You need experts in their respective fields that are working hard, ready to remind you that the long hours are worthwhile.

You need peers in your field, ready to share their insights with you and spark a meaningful conversation that makes you smarter.

You need confidantes, ready to remind you of your truth.

“You have to come to this truth of what you really care about so that you can find the right people to keep around you that will help support you.” @jessikaphillips (click to tweet)

Sometimes, it takes someone else to remind you that the thing that comes naturally to you is your gift.

Sometimes we need someone that loves us to help us see that something that comes innately to us is something with which others struggle, and that in and of itself is incredible.

byron running with joy at SMWLWhen we surround ourselves with great people, we create the kind of energy that matches the phrase “a rising tide raises all ships.”

It’s the kind of attitude of your success is my success, and we can’t create that kind of energy or momentum alone.

Re-define Success:

Part of stepping into your power means redefining success for yourself.

“We grow up to think that success is the 6-figure job and buying the house and having the family, and for so many people, they tried it and it didn’t work.” @briseeley (click to tweet)

When you take the time to understand your values on a deep level, whether they are freedom, love, and passion like Bri’s or transparency, teamwork, passion, and integrity like ours, you have the ability to attract the right people to your life and business.

This is how you set your business and your entire life up for true success because success is defined on your terms, based on a true alignment with your personal value system.

“Success is not a destination; it’s a feeling - the daily contentment of your life.” @jessikaphillips (click to tweet)

Putting It All Together:

You’ll know you’ve truly stepped into your power when you have refined your messaging to be exactly YOU, and have no shame in claiming how good you are at what you do.

While it’s not easy work to do, stepping into your power is the greatest gift you can give yourself because it’s an act of courage.

It’s brave to do the hard work to tap into your gifts, and it’s scary to be vulnerable and share them with the world, but this is what makes life worth living.

If you’re ready to craft your unapologetic message and figure out your custom growth strategy, Bri has an outline for you to get started.

Are you inspired to go infuse more YOU into your messaging? What’s one thing you’re going to do today as a way to start stepping into your power?

We’d love to hear from you!
