HCF and NOW Marketing Group Team Up for National Cancer Survivor Day
National Cancer Survivor Day is June 2nd and we want to take a moment to recognize all the Cancer survivors. Cancer is, to say the least, a nightmare. It's said that half of all men and one-third of all women in the US will develop cancer during their lifetimes. There are over 100 types of Cancer that have wreaked peoples lives. But thanks to advances in detection and treatment, 13 million American cancer survivors are alive today, and the numbers are growing. National Cancer Survivor Day is a CELEBRATION for those who have survived, an INSPIRATION for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of SUPPORT for families, and an outreach to the community. Participants unite in a symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful, productive, and even inspiring.
We wanted a way to join in, and help our client, HCF Inc, recognize Cancer Survivors across their geographical footprint in Ohio and Pennsylvania. We created an event called the "HCF Cancer Survivor Day GiveBack Contest" to give one Cancer Survivor a vacation get-away. The contest ran across all 24 of the HCF Care Community Facebook pages. Nominations began April 1st and ran through May 31st. Any fan of the page was able to nominate their loved one as a cancer survivor by sending in a photo and their survivor's story. After a nomination was submitted, individuals were able to ask family and friends to vote for them on the contest app on each HCF Facebook page.
The survivor with the most votes at 11:59 pm on April 30th would win over a $3,600 prize pack that included an all expense paid trip for 2 to Mackinac Island. The prize pack includes a 3 day, 2 night stay at the Grand Hotel, 2 rounds of golf on their famous "The Jewel" course. The trip also includes food and an entertainment package! There will also be a gift pack with more goodies!!
