Those who use Sprout Social to manage their Facebook & Twitter profiles can finally let out a sigh of relief. If you have ever used Sprout Social for insights reporting, you'll know that reporting for Facebook is much better than reporting for Twitter.  Facebook insight reports give you a breakdown of where all of your page impressions come from, whereas on the Twitter reporting, you are lucky to even get the number of mentions or new followers you had in a given period. Well that has finally changed, and I couldn't be happier!

1. Better Overview

The first thing I noticed about the new twitter analytics was a better overview analysis of how my page performed in the previous month. It will give you total impressions, engagement, and link clicks, which is very good basic information to know.

2. Audience Growth Appears Better

The new audience growth graph appears to be accurate, but I am not confident with that % number on the righthand side.  I haven't been able to caculate that number in my own twitter analytics using other tools outside of Sprout Social.

3. Post & Conversation Graph

Now you can keep track of how many tweets & direct messages you are sending or receiving on a daily basis.  On the old reporting system, all you saw was the final number.

4. Content and Engagement Habits

Successful profiles have great content and engage; it only makes sense to have to have this graph available.

Conclusion

These updates to will make it easier to understand your Twitter analytics and was bound to come sooner or later. The biggest issue before was Twitter had most of their API blocked. Once twitter allowed more access to its analytics and even made updates to its own platform, it opened the door for these changes to finally occur!  I hope you enjoy these updates as much as I have, and if you need any help understanding anything in the new reports, feel free to comment below.
