The Power of Facebook

Facebook is taking over the internet world and causing disruption. As Facebook expert Mari Smith has said, “Facebook is disrupting television, video, search, e-mail and commerce.” There are over 40 million active small business pages and 2 million active advertisers. What are you doing to make your Facebook posts become interactive with your ideal customers? Only 1-4 % on average of people see your Facebook posts and 79% of all social referrals come from Facebook believe it or not. Being a successful Facebook marketer requires a good plan of action.

What is your plan of attack for Facebook?

“The real power only comes to those who create content that connects, engages, and moves through the network through social sharing.” -Mark Schaefer

Strategic content should be a part of your plan. You should consider using an editorial calendar to keep yourself on track. Also post compelling stories and customer experiences to keep your ideal customers engaged with stories that they could potentially relate to. Use a strong call-to-action to get people to your website by encouraging them to visit your website. Although your content on Facebook may be epic, that is not enough. Your content should be amplified by using paid promotions to increase your engagement and conversions. Do not be afraid to repurpose your content; use it to your advantage.

“As you know content is king but engagement is queen and she rules the house.”- Mari Smith

Know the facts about Facebook engagement:

-Engagement posts on Sunday get 52.9% more interactions. Therefore, do not be afraid to post for your business on a Sunday. You can schedule the post to go out and do not have to post it yourself.

-Think about what time you are most on Facebook; most posts that go out around 10-11pm get 88% more interactions.

-Visual content is your friend; use it to your advantage by using image and video posts. Image posts get 179% more interactions and video posts get the most shares at 89.5% average shares.

Don’t know what videos you should post? You do not have to be a professional or need a professional video camera; use your phone. Think of how you can entertain your ideal customer and add value to your target customers.

Get creative within the first 3 seconds of a video to get people to click to watch.

Amy Porterfield, a social media strategist, gives the following best practices for video creation:

  • Start with an obvious yes question (relate to a challenge)
  • Tell them who you are and why that’s important to them
  • Make a promise
  • Get to the heart of the matter (“So that…”)
  • Give a clear call-to-action

To put this plan into action and start driving traffic to your website, make sure you build your Facebook page around a passion. The factors that impact your Facebook success are measured by:

  • The right audience
  • Engaging and valuable content
  • Industry
  • Product

Show your passion to your Facebook followers to get them engaged into your business. Build a passion page to get people to see what you love and why you love it. A passion page will drive traffic back to your Facebook page. Also, when you create a passion page make sure you remember to post a lot of helpful content. Make the most out of your penny by doing these to further help your business in the long run.

“Passion pages are Facebook pages built around a passion instead of a brand.”- Jon Loomer
