Wow, crazy to think it’s already a whole month into 2019!
There’s one thing you can count on social media for–it’s always going to be changing! Stagnation doesn’t exist on these platforms. Whether it’s a breaking news story, a viral video, or a new meme trend, things are always happening.
And, the platforms themselves like to switch things up and add new features all the time.
Not only that, but the way customers interact with and choose what products they’re going to buy is also changing all the time.
So, what do we think is going to be changing on these platforms? Social media marketing is reliant on keeping up with trends and using the latest updates to our advantage to reach our audiences. Here are some things we think are coming in the next year.
First, why would people choose your company over all the other options?
Well, looking ahead to this year–and even farther ahead to 2020–the trend is people are picking businesses based on the experience people are getting from them. It’s no longer just about offering a better product. It’s about how the company makes them feel while they are researching, shopping, receiving the product, and the customer service they get if something goes wrong.
It all comes down:
- Ease of Use
This is all true for social media. Consumers are shifting how they are using social media and really wanting brands to put the social back into social media. They want true conversations and they want us to make it really easy for them to contact us, learn more, and ultimately buy.
So, how do you do this?
Smaller communities are key to making this work. You want to enable yourself and the customer to have more intimate conversations. A great way to facilitate this is through Facebook Groups.
Use tools like Facebook Groups to host conversations and keep them going. Engage with your customers! People don’t want to be bombarded with sale pitch, they want to hang out online and be social. Your job is to facilitate a community.
It’s all about meeting your customer where they’re at.
Sales and marketing holding hands and … getting married?!
Yup, that’s what we think! Sales and marketing are going to get together and merge to become one “family.”
One reason is that companies want to maximize their time and use tools like Chat Bots to speed up communication and answer people’s questions more effectively. Anything that can be simplified and automated, will be.
That’s also how advertising is changing. Ads are now going to include the full buying cycle: learn about the company, do the thing, and complete the full journey. They are going to be smarter and allow the user to stay on the platform they’re on.
Again, it’s all about the experience people are having with the brand. The goal in the future is to create frictionless experiences. And that’s what you need to know for 2019 and beyond!
