Why Facebook is Still My Social Network of Choice

People have been saying for quite some time now that Facebook is on its way out -- that users have simply just stopped using it. If this rumor were true, I would understand why it isn't being utilized for more businesses.

But this isn't the case.

It's been over ten years since the initial launch of Facebook and it is still the number one social networking site.  According to statista.com the number of Facebook users has only increased with time and as of the first quarter in 2015 there are over 1.44 billion monthly active users.

Sowith 1.44 billion potential people to reach, how could a business afford to not use Facebook? And a better question than that, why would you want to? The simple solution: You wouldn't!

Here are a few reasons I think Facebook is a social network you shouldn't go without.

1. You can reach more than friends. You can reach friends of friends. Or friends of friends of friends. Other businesses. Current customers. Future clients.  The list goes on. The point is whether people are liking your page or sharing your content, your name is getting out there and people are seeing it.

2. Facebook is often used to find a solution to a problem. Making a Facebook status is an easy way to ask for advice from friends or hear from people who have had a similar problem. Your loyal customers will be able to tag your company when they see something that applies to you. Facebook users always want to help other Facebook users, be available.

3.  It's easy to build relationships. Facebook is more than just posting your own content. It is easy to connect with other businesses by sharing, liking, or commenting on their posts. You can interact with your fans in an easy way while representing your company.

4. Your posts can hold a lot of content. Twitter limits its users to 140 characters, and sometimes that isn't enough. Facebook allows over 60,000 characters to be used in a status, which is hardly reached. While short posts are best for the quick read, you won't have to worry about limiting the information you're trying to share.

5. It's easy to keep track of your results. Facebook tells you not only how many times your content has been "liked" "shared" or "commented" on, but it can also tell you how many people have viewed what you posted. You can see if your content is reaching your crowd the way you want it to.

Don't pass up the opportunity to expand your business awareness, connect with friends, customers, and other businesses. Facebook is only getting better with time, show your fans that you are too! Want to learn more? Download our free guide to ten ways you can marketing your brand on Facebook.
