Your vote counts...

... for our HCF Give Back Campaign!

One simple vote – less than a minute of your time – will count in our HCF Give Back Campaign to support one local non-profit in their efforts to serve our local community. Time is short, and we’re looking for your voice to be heard online! To see the benefit of the HCF Give Back Campaign, we must first take a look at the condition of most non-profit organizations.

Many non-profit agencies run on a shoe-string budget. This is especially true of the smaller, hometown charities which address local issues and needs. Even with national non-profits, the responsibility to raise funds normally falls to the local unit or chapter as well.

Adding to the necessity to raise funds and help the community, the economic downturn hit many non-profits hard forcing them to rethink, re-evaluate and, in some cases, scale back or cut programs. Again, this is particularly true for small hometown charities, which are not just fighting to keep programs, but to keep their doors open.

Because of the downturn, donations from reliable sources that had given to specific agencies for years began to be reduced. Likewise, donations from individuals also shrunk as people began to examine the number of groups they contributed to. In some cases, people that once supported an agency are now the ones coming to them for assistance.

When it comes to marketing, a budget line usually doesn’t exist for a non-profit agency. There are simply no funds available. Spreading the word about what they do and the lives they change comes from simple fliers, freebie ads, special deals when they can squeeze them in, and the most popular: word of mouth.

This is where the HCF Give Back Campaign comes into play. Because it is an online campaign, it has the potential to reach thousands of people and raise awareness for local non-profits and charities. This in itself is a plus, regardless of whether the charity wins or loses, because of the exposure to a wide range of people that might not be aware of their cause. For the winner, the awareness will be amplified through the online campaign they will receive as part of the prize package; the effects of which could extend to ongoing future support through the community.

Another benefit of the campaign is the outright gift of $500 to the winner, which the organization can apply to their most urgent financial needs.

So what can $500 do? It can…

  • > Provide over 200 hot meals
  • > Provide counseling and educational materials
  • > Send children to camp
  • > Support shelter for the homeless
  • > Assist local youth sports
  • > Support the arts and culture
  • > Support shelter for battered women
  • > Save animals
  • > Support the environment
  • > Support those with disabilities

As you can see, $500 can do a great deal to help make our communities a better place to live. This list highlights only a few of the things local non-profits and charities are doing to help people.

The HCF Give Back Campaign addresses the immediate need of financial support for a local non-profit and provides a way for organizations to bring awareness to their cause, especially the winner, which could act as a catalyst for long term support and awareness throughout the community.

How can you help? By simply going online and placing your vote for your favorite local charity!
