If you’re trying to find a sure-fire way to pump up all of your social media efforts, there’s one card you can play that is guaranteed to work: Encourage brand advocacy from your employees.

Get them to rally around your brand and the benefits will be huge!

As social media evolves, it increasingly is becoming more of a pay-to-play avenue. So without social engagement your posts may not reach their maximum potential. Encouraging your employees to invest time in your brand’s online presence can be done in many ways.

Brand advocacy goes back to the fact relationships are more powerful than marketing. You can encourage your employees to become brand advocates in a few different ways:

Create Social Media All-Stars

Creating social media all-stars within your organization will help spark interest among employees as they create additional excitement around the brand in their day-to-day activities. Giving your employees a job role such as this gives them the opportunity to contribute their creative ideas, which in return will not only boost job satisfaction but also boost your online presence as well. Creating these special brand advocates within your business will help spread the word through people and not just advertisements.

Encourage your Employees to Create and Share Content

Sharing your social content is a great way to boost engagement on all of your social platforms and will also spread your brand's message to potential customers. People like to buy from those they know, like, and trust, so when they see their friends sharing content from your business page they are more likely to engage with that content as well. Having your employees engage with your own content is also a great way to increase your organic reach online. Because most every business is now putting a part of their advertising budget into social platforms, encouraging your social media all-stars to share your content is the perfect way to get that extra organic boost.

Encourage Employees to Continue Learning

Whatever field you may be in, continued education is very important. When employees continue to learn they are desiring to be the best in their field and become a thought leader. Having employees who are taking the initiative to learn new avenues of advertising and marketing of your brand will keep your organization ahead of the curve. Leaders never stop learning. They don’t become complacent. They have a passion in their hearts to be the best while helping others, and that’s exactly what you want from a brand advocate.

Brand advocacy doesn’t have to be another daunting task because you have the power to make it fun by empowering your employees. Gather your team together and share the importance of supporting your brand as it is what has brought you together.
